Rug of the Month
Indo Garrus Bijar
Looking for something fun, yet classy...traditional, yet modern? This month's feature rug is perfect for you! The Indo Garrus Bijar is a beautiful rug with a whimsical and elegant design. Although made in India, this rug is patterned after a very well-known rug design from Garrus in Northwest Persia in the 1800s. The design, known as split-arabesque, is an interwoven pattern of floral and geometric elements. This rug has an amazing combination of floral designs combined with the geometric shapes throughout. Pictures below show close-ups of these elements. This rug is made with hand-spun wool, which gives it the antique look and is made with all natural dyes. At 120 knots per square inch, it is a finely woven rug that will last for generations. This rug can be made in a variety of sizes and the reverse color way. What a unique yet beautiful rug to have in your home!
